Riyadh Airports Company (RAC), which manages and operates King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh, has announced its participation as the main sponsor for operations at the first-ever Saudi World Defense Show, which will take place from March 6 to March 9, 2022. The high-level forum will bring together hundreds of the world's most powerful military and political figures, as well as create an engaging dialogue on the global defense landscape.
Founded by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), World Defense Show will be under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The first day began with a spectacular opening ceremony that included air shows to demonstrate the operational compatibility capabilities of defense and security systems in all fields, as well as a display of the most recent technological developments from around the world
Within the framework of this sponsorship, "Riyadh Airports" will manage the World Defense Show's airfield operations, as well as provide the necessary equipment to support air operations and contribute its expertise in terms of security and safety.
Engineer Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Maghlouth, CEO of Riyadh Airports Company, commented on RAC's participation in this global event, saying, "Riyadh Airports' partnership with the World Defense Show affirms our commitment to providing support for national initiatives and serving Saudi objectives, amid a drive to localize 50% of its military expenditure under national Vision 2030 objectives."
He added "As a national institution, one of our most crucial objectives is to strengthen the Kingdom's position in all international forums, particularly those taking place in the homeland. This goal is being met by seizing opportunities for promising global collaborations and emphasizing the role of national corporations in developing economic sectors. We are honored to be among the World Defense Show's partners this year, and we are delighted to contribute to the success of Riyadh's global events."
It is worth mentioning that over 450 companies from approximately 37 countries will participate in the exhibition's first edition to showcase the latest defense and security industry technologies in the fields of land, sea, air, space, and information security, in an ideal environment for communication, innovation, and stimulating partnerships. The Kingdom will demonstrate its local capabilities in the defense and security industries, with a large number of military and government agencies, as well as local businesses, companies.
