In partnership with the King Salman Center for Disability Research and Saudi Aramco, a sensory room has been opened in the Domestic Terminal 5 at King Khalid International Airport. This is a specially designed and prepared room to serve as a waiting area for children with disabilities and their families. The sensory room is equipped with entertainment and educational tools and devices that simulate different natural environments, and motivate different senses such as sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell, to allow children with disabilities feel connected to their surrounding environment and learn more about it. This room aims to facilitate the travel experience for children with disabilities and their families, helping them to relax and spend quality time in a safe environment.
