King Khalid International Airport, managed and operated by Riyadh Airports Company, won several awards at the 2025 Airport FAB + Hospitality Conference & Awards, held in Barcelona, Spain on June 25–26.
The airport received four awards recognizing excellence and innovation in airport food and beverage services. These included:
Regional Award for the Middle East & Africa – Opening of the Year, for the launch of the Infin’eat food hall, operated by Lagardère Group.
Best Restaurant Design, awarded to the Eric Kayser branch at the airport.
Best Food Hall, awarded to Food Garden, operated by SSP Group.
Chef of the Year – Airports, a high-level honorary award presented to Chef Daniel Lewis from Lagardère Group.
Mr. Ayman Abu Abah, CEO of Riyadh Airports Company, stated that these awards reflect the collaborative efforts with partners at King Khalid International Airport to meet high standards in food and beverage services, enriching the travel experience for passengers with diverse needs.
In the same context, Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Asaker, Chief Commercial Officer at Riyadh Airports Company, said:
"This achievement clearly reflects King Khalid International Airport’s adoption of the highest global standards and its outstanding excellence in food and hospitality services. It also confirms our commitment to continuous development to meet the growing number and diversity of travelers and their tastes. It is worth noting that Riyadh Airports Company had previously signed commercial agreements with Lagardère Group, SSP Group, and other entities to enhance the level of operational services and elevate the airport passenger experience. These agreements were signed during the World Annual General Assembly (WAGA) and exhibition hosted by the company last year.
